Presence. The one we assign, restrict, tolerate. The one we claim, conquer, choose.
The one we watch for, hunt down. It becomes a threat. It looks at us, observes us.
Inspired by the figures of the Bacchantes and the Furies, Élie Autin summons ambivalent forces that run through the entirety of her practice. The question of protection constantly surfaces: who protects whom? And at what point does vigilance turn into attack?
Through her installation, the artist composes a topography of threat. Her body becomes a chimera, inhabiting the in-between spaces, confronting us with a gaze we would rather avert.

Comment s’approprier un espace d’exposition public, animé par le regard d’autrui, tout en y tissant une intimité qui veut échapper au remodelage de l’œil dominant ? Lieu de tension – autant métaphorique que concret – où se rejoue le paradoxe incessant entre hypervisibilisation imposée et invisibilisation systémique, l’espace d’exposition devient une fissure, une fenêtre entrouverte – ou scellée – sur l’identité plurielle et fluide, et sur les enjeux politiques qui la traversent.

How can one reclaim a public exhibition space – animated by the gaze of others – while weaving into it an intimacy that seeks to escape the reshaping power of the dominant eye ? A site of tension—both metaphorical and concrete—where the relentless paradox between imposed hyper-visibility and systemic invisibilization is played out, the exhibition space becomes a fissure, a half-open –or sealed –window onto plural and fluid identity, and onto the political forces that run through it.

Que se cache-t-il derrière la banalité apparente d’un drap abandonné, froissé et inerte d’une chambre d’hôtel ?
Les objets s’entassent, s’accumulent, s’imprègnent d’émotions. Dans un monde hypnotisé par l’efficacité, l’ordre et la fonctionnalité, ces objets se révèlent être des interruptions silencieuses – des traces de moments qui échappent à la linéarité du temps, à l’utilité.
En explorant une temporalité flottante et mystérieuse, l’exposition monday’s ghost réunit les pratiques de Nina Rieben (BS/BE) et Leanne Picthall (VD), alliant peinture et installation, pour investiguer les relations intimes et souvent complexes que nous entretenons avec les objets.

Rêver et incarner de nouveaux plaisirs, explorer d’autres manières d’exister et, finalement, façonner de nouveaux mondes. Trouver refuge, construire de nouveaux espaces où être et devenir.
En 2024, dans un souffle immuable de collectivité et de visibilité, WallStreet invite onze auteuricexs TINFA à proposer un texte dont la forme libre permet d’aborder, de manière intime, des enjeux politiques, parfois utopiques, parfois des récits personnels de leur propre réalité. Durant l’année, chaque mois un texte est publié sur Instagram, dont le format digital permet de redéfinir la visibilité et le temps.

Le 21 mars 2025, un an après le début de ce projet, les mots résonnent dans l’espace d’art WallStreet et se matérialisent sous forme physique avec cette édition.

Stirnimann-Stojanovic’s concepts are manifested and materialised in situations, performances, words and objects. Central themes in their artistic practice are bound to social and structural issues. Via transdisciplinary and collective approaches, by exploring the boundaries between art, activism, and society, Stirnimann-Stojanovic aim to thematise and demand sustainable living conditions. Some of the works presented at WallStreet were developed during a four-month residency in Belgrade, granted to the duo by the City of Fribourg and the CVC/SKK in 2022.

Dans l’exposition Querencia, le collectif Oil Productions recompose la sexualité en force curative et s’emploie à transformer WallStreet en un territoire d’explorations hybrides et fictionnelles consacrées aux corps, aux sexualités et aux dynamiques de (dé)connexion.
Querencia, dont la sonorité s’associe avec querer (vouloir) ou carencia (carence), se veut un lieu de prédilection où l’on désire une capsule protectrice érigée contre les systèmes d’oppression, en quête de sécurité. Dans cet espace, les pratiques de soin, les rituels et les moyens de protection sont conçus comme des actes de résistance et de lutte collective.

In Querencia, Oil Productions recomposes sexuality as a curative force and sets out to transform WallStreet into a territory of hybrid and fictional explorations devoted to bodies, sexualities and the dynamics of (dis)connection.
The sonority of Querencia is associated with querer (to want) or carencia (deficiency), is intended to be a place where a protective capsule is erected against systems of oppression, in search of security. In this space, care practices, rituals and means of protection are conceived as acts of resistance and collective fights.

« Dans ma valise il y a… ». Véritable jeu de mémoire, chacun·e·x son tour prononce et répète cette phrase en la complétant. La phrase se construit et s’allonge dans le temps, se révèle et se métamorphose. A WallStreet, ces mots prennent vie, se matérialisent et s’emparent de l’espace. De ce jeu d’enfants, d’une valise décousue, les artistes réuni·e·x·s se rassemblent autour d’une expérience commune et tissent leurs liens autour d’un bagage émotionnel et poétique qu’iels déposeront collectivement au Varis 10 et 12.

« Dans ma valise il y a… ». A real memory game, each person in turn says and repeats this sentence, completing it. The phrase builds and lengthens over time, revealing itself and metamorphosing. In Wall Street, these words come to life, materialize and take over the space. From this child’s play, from a disjointed suitcase, the artists gather around a common experience and weave their links around an emotional and poetic baggage that they will collectively deposit at Varis 10 and 12.
